As I’m sitting here on this 700th cold day this winter, My heart is warmed by the remembrance of ‘Bootsie’, a nickname given to Emmy when she was two, stomping through life in these boots. My little hippie girl was born with her style! All these Emmy bracelets were inspired by ‘Bootsie”! Missing you more each day Em…xoxoxox
I truly believe that each one of us wants to make a difference. A year ago, our lives were changed forever, though Emmy left us her gift of beauty through her bracelets. Not only are they ‘just bling’ but they continue to make a difference in many of our lives. You might be like me and put on several bracelets each morning, which reminds me to be more graceful like Emmy, say ‘I love you’ more often and be more patient in a challenging world.
Through lalaemmyland, thousands of women from around the world are making a difference with ‘Bracelets from Heaven’. Sale proceeds continue to support various speaker programs where experts and personal testimonials are reaching young adults and helping them find alternative paths to sadness. ‘Bracelets from Heaven’ make beautiful Christmas presents that continue to give throughout the year and continue to make a difference in many lives. To: A Girl with Undeniable Beauty
Miss Emily Anne Gaffey,
Thank you for being one of my best friends for 7 beautiful years. You were gorgeous my dear. I did not tell you that enough. You were free, loving, expressive, and creative. You gave me my love for Sephora and Victoria’s Secret. You were artistically talented from photography to fashion to interior design. You were one of a kind and could make anything better with your sassy comments! Your sense of humor was absolutely irreplaceable. I will always cherish those things Emm.
Thinking back to high school we had so many crazy beautiful memories together from our first heartbreaks to the dance we threw in your gym to our first A&F experience. Remember getting ready in your room for hours on end?? We would steal your mom’s very expensive “la prairie” under eye makeup. (SO SORRY Mrs. Gaffey) We would spend all that time and have absolutely no where to go. Literally take a million mirror pix and go to sleep. Never bothered us! We listened to music talked and laughed. I remember the nights we would watch movies and snuggle together in the green and white guest room. It was one of your favorite places. You always found comfort there. It was your little safe haven from the world. You used to say you wanted to hide under the covers and never come out. That’s where we stayed during the night of your very first heartbreak. Where we cried together and hid from the world. I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything.
Our friendship was unique because we were so much alike. Our nights were filled with sneaking out, self tanning, snuggling, and Starbucks. Remember those summer nights driving out west windows down music up?? My all time favorite was when you and I were out way past curfew and Jon’s brother said STAN THE MAN. You and I looked at each and laughed. “HAHA that’s what we call your dad!” Then it dawned on us…it was your dad and he was calling you! Of course we avoided getting in trouble at all cost. So we didn’t answer the phone and we were stranded. The one and only time I have EVER slept in my car was with you emm! So uncomfortable but hilarious looking back at it now!
After everything we shared together you were& always will remain one of my oldest dearest friends. I was so blessed to have had the privilege of knowing you.
When we were out people would mistake us for sisters and we were in a way. We had a rare friendship. You were my partner in crime and you understood me. You and I were both pretty good at shutting people out. I shut almost everyone out during my pregnancy including you and I am sorry for that Emm. There were times we would go without talking for one reason or another but we understood each other. We always picked up where we left off. It hurts my heart that I do not know when I will see you again but I do know that we will pick up right where we left off. Although you never met McKenna, I can say with certainty that no one was as happy as you were that she was a girl! You would also be thrilled to know that it looks like she will be a little ginger 🙂 just like you! You asked if you could be McKenna’s godmother and now I am asking you to be her guardian angel. Please watch over my baby Emm.
I will always love you.
I have a feeling you already know this, but you were in my dream last night and you were so happy. You were smiling and Dan and Kate were next to you, while your parents were watching. And you were just so happy and telling us all how happy you truly are. Even though I know we all wish we could witness you being happy, its almost enough to just know that you are. Think about you every day Emmy!
